Ten beneficiaries of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria’s home renovation loan programme have received a total of N7.7million from the bank.
This happened on Thursday as the management of the bank said it had voted over N2billion to develop five housing estates in Oyo State.
The FMBN’s Zonal Manager, Fashina Abiodun, while presenting cheques to the 10 beneficiaries from different parts of the state, said, “The FMBN launched one of the most ambitious housing delivery programmes in this country. The National Affordable Housing Delivery Programme is in collaboration with the Nigerian Labour Congress, the Trade Union Congress and the Nigerian Employers’ Consultative Association.
“It is a programme aimed at delivering affordable houses to workers in every state of the federation. As we speak, the bank has the mandate to build 200 housing units in each of the six geopolitical zones of the country, including Lagos and Abuja. The pilot projects have commenced in earnest in some zones.”
He said the bank is funding a total of 502 housing units with over N2billion across the state.
During the presentation of cheques at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan, the FMBN’s Branch Manager, Mr. Sotounwa Olusegun, said, “This programme is one of the several products of the bank, aimed at ensuring that contributors to the NHF benefit from the scheme. The FMBN Home Renovation Loan was created for the purpose of renovating existing structures.”

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Olayiwola Michael, expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying,
