Three suspects are currently cooling their heels in police custody in connection with the kidnap of a council chairman and his driver in Oyo State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed this on Monday following Governor Seyi Makinde’s visit to the Command’s headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan.

Fadeyi said, “Three suspects had been arrested in a case of kidnap and are currently being investigated. Further details to follow later, please.”

Recall that the Chairman, Iganna Local Council Development Area of Oyo State, Mr. Jacob Adeleke, and his driver were kidnapped by gunmen on their way to Ibadan on Sunday evening along the Iseyin-Ado Awaye Road.

The chairman was said to have been scheduled for a meeting with Governor Makinde on Monday.

The governor lauded the police for their efforts stressing that his administration would continue to take security very important.

The two hostages regained their freedom six days after their arrest by the abductors.
