The Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) Alumni Association has extended its reach across the globe, inaugurating new branches in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, fresh chapters have been launched in Abuja, Lagos, and Ibadan, further strengthening the association’s presence in Nigeria.
This development was announced in a statement signed by the Alumni President, Busoye Ogunlade, in Ibadan on Monday. Ogunlade revealed that new executives have been appointed to oversee the affairs of these branches for the next three years.
The newly appointed coordinators include: United States: Temitope Okegbemiro; United Kingdom: Omowumi Yewande Ajayi; Ibadan: Oni Ayodeji Emmanuel; Lagos State: Oluwatobiloba Babatunde-Ayoola; Abuja: Slim-Wonah Oluwaseun Oluwatomi (née Adetayo); Canada: Seyi Adepoju.
Ogunlade highlighted that the expansion aligns with his vision to grow the alumni network globally, describing the new branches as platforms for excellence and collaboration. He further noted the association’s commitment to supporting the university through initiatives such as establishing an endowment fund for research and providing assistance to lecturers to curb brain drain.
Expressing gratitude to the university’s management for their unwavering support, Ogunlade encouraged alumni to contribute to the institution’s development, especially as ACU marks its 20th anniversary this year.
“The new executives are seasoned professionals and senior public servants in their respective fields. I urge all members to cooperate with them to ensure the success of these new chapters,” Ogunlade stated. “It’s crucial that we work together to build a vibrant and prosperous alumni association, to the glory of God and humanity,” he said.
In addition to expanding its network, the association has launched a new website — www.acu-alumni.com — designed to provide easy access to institutional information and streamline services such as transcript processing. The platform also facilitates the disbursement of loans to alumni members for small-scale business ventures.
“We created this website to ease various processes for alumni, from accessing transcripts to securing financial support. I encourage all members to register, as this will enable us to efficiently manage loan disbursement and other initiatives,” Ogunlade added.
With these strides, the ACU Alumni Association continues to foster connections and empower its members while contributing to the university’s growth.
