A top senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, says the life and time of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, former governor of the state was exemplary, considering the impacts of his legacies on humanity after his passing.
Kola-Daisi spoke on Thursday as encomiums continue to pour in to mark the 72nd posthumous birthday of the late politician.
Kola-Daisi, son-in-law to the late two-time governor of the Pacesetter State, described it as a privilege having a fore taste of the man, Ajimobi.
He said, “Truly, the memory of the righteous is blessed.”
As a legacy structure was being inaugurated in the late Ajimobi’s memories, on Thursday, at the University of Ibadan, Kola-Daisi said, “Today, in conjunction with the University of Ibadan’s Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, a Senator Abiola Ajimobi Resource Centre, built upon one of his many legacies of peace and love for promoting knowledge, will be commissioned to the glory of God, the benefit of humanity, and the furtherance of his exemplary legacy.
“Happy 72nd posthumous birthday to the legend we all enjoyed the privilege of knowing and experiencing, both in life, and even now more in death.”
In furtherance of the posthumous birthday anniversary, the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation hosted leading Nigerians, including Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, and others, on Thursday, December, 16, to inaugurate the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Resource Centre.
The Centre was donated to the Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan, in commemoration of the posthumous anniversary of the former governor.
