The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, on Saturday described Iwo as an ancient city with new positive face facilitated by the current Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi.
The Akarigbo spoke while receiving the Oluwo in his palace at Sagamu, Ogun State.
According to him, Iwo has become an household name since the ascension of Oba Akanbi.
He added that the hardwork by Oluwo had given the ancient city a positive face on the global map.
The monarch narrated his experience of the turning around of Iwo with prayer that the Oluwo shall sustain his faith in moving the town forward.
Oba Akanbi, in his message, said his visit was to discuss issues affecting traditional institution and foster relationship between the two cities.
The monarch added, “The position of Akarigbo in the traditional institution is unquantifiable.”
The Oluwo described Akarigbo as an understanding ally with keen interest in Yoruba growth and development, noting that he had no doubt in his ability to effect unity and bring modernity and glory to the advantage of traditional institution.
The Akarigbo stressed the need for renewed efforts tailored towards unity and harmony.
In the Oluwo’s entourage are Obas and baales from Iwoland.
