Intense reactions continue to trail the alleged irregularities on the particulars which Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, tendered to the Independent National Electoral Commission with the Action Peoples Party threatening that it would initiate a suit against him and his party.

Also, it was gathered that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who disclosed that he attended a secondary school and earned a Master’s degree, was silent on his primary school education.

Controversy swelled against Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State on the allegations that the credentials which he submitted to the electoral commission were incomplete and inconsistent with the ones that were presented some years ago as governor.

Tinubu was said to have been silent on the primary and secondary schools which he attended as he left the spaces on the form blank.

The APC presidential candidate disclosed that he attended University of Chicago and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration.

In his own particulars, Tinubu’s running mate, Kabiru Masari,  disclosed that he earned primary and secondary school certificates in 1978 and 1983 respectively and obtained a Higher Certificate in 1995.

The national chairman of the APP, Uche Nnadi, alleged that Tinubu’s particulars were fraught with irregularities.

Nnadi stated that Tinubu abandoned his earlier claim of attending primary school, sworn in an affidavit to run for governor in 1999 “but now claims not to have attended primary school.”

He stressed that “Tinubu’s new declaration in new INEC forms of not attending primary and secondary school is false information in view of earlier nomination forms of 2007 on oath containing alleged controversial primary and secondary schools he claimed to have.”
