The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident in Ibadan on Monday, said the Divisional Police Officer in the area had sent signal to the command regarding the incident.

The PPRO said, “It is true. The DPO told me that the incident happened when the driver of the truck was trying to avoid killing some sheep and rammed into the students on the Okada.

“Police have moved to the area to ensure that life and property were not vandalised by angry students.”

The aggrieved students of the school reportedly moved to the park in the area where they vandalised some vehicles. Parents and guardians were said to have scampered down to the schools in order to pick their children and wards.

An eyewitness said, “Four pupils of the Ejioku secondary school were crushed by a truck. Students have started mobilising in order to vandalise trucks in Ejioku. The students were on rampage.”
