Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that the accident was as a result of over-speeding. They claimed that the two vehicles collided at a sharp bend close to the market.

The number of those who lost their lives and their identities could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

The Oyo State Police Command urged the relatives of the affected passengers to visit Fadok Hospital where some of the victims were taken.

Attempts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, for details at press time were abortive.
