News of the passage of the late politician was broken by former Senator from Kaduna-Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani.

Musa was first governor to be impeached in the history of Nigeria.

The cause of his death could not be immediately ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

Sani, who broke the news of his death on Twitter, said, “Alhaji Balarabe Musa has died. May Allah forgive his soul and grant him Aljanna Firdausi. Amin.”

Musa, a progressive, was the leader of the People’s Redemption Party in the 4th Republic.

In 2018, he stepped down as the chairman of the party on account of ill health.
