The Nigerian Baptist Convention will hold a three-day National Leadership Summit between Tuesday, 13th July and Thursday, 15th July 2021.
In a statement signed by Toba Adaramola, the Summit Secretary he stated that the 2021 edition is the third in the series which was organised through the collaboration of three out of the organs of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (Bowen University, Iwo; the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso; and the Directorate of Ecumenism for Development and Peace Initiatives).
The summit with the theme, ‘Leadership and Nationhood,’ will be declared open by the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev Israel Akanji, in Bowen University, Iwo.
Expected speakers are the President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Supo Ayokunle; Chief Ayo Opadokun, and Prof. Dapo Asaju, former Vice-Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
The summit, which would hold at Bowen University, Iwo, is to be declared open by the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Summit Chief Host, Rev. Dr Israel Akanji.
Others are Rev Joseph Hayab, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State; Prof. Deji Ayegboyin, Rev. Rachel Lateju, the Executive Director of Women Missionary Union of the Nigerian Baptist Convention; and Prof. John. Enyinnaya of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso.
The statement further stated that the objectives of the summit are to the apply the principles of transformational leadership for the development of the society; to respond to the challenges associated with the practice of leadership in the Nigerian society; and to prepare contemporary generation of young people for leadership responsibilities that will transform the society.”
Expected at the summit are politicians, captains of industries, public office holders, religious leaders, academics, opinion leaders, traditional leaders, civil society organisations and the general public.
