The Presiding Bishop of Victory International Church, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, has assured Nigerians that 2025 will bring unexpected divine interventions that will ease the current economic hardship in the country.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of the 2025 Global Miracle Crusade, scheduled to take place from February 2 to 5 at the Wonder City Crusade Ground, opposite Dominion University on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Bishop Adelakun expressed confidence that Nigeria’s economy would experience a miraculous turnaround.
He declared, “People are facing difficulties, but let Nigerians be assured that this year will be better. God will manifest His power, and it will be clear to everyone. There is hope, and those who feel hopeless will see God’s intervention.”
A Global Spiritual Gathering
The Global Miracle Crusade, an annual event coordinated by Victory International Church, Rehoboth Cathedral, Oluyole, Ibadan, attracts participants from different Christian denominations. While the crusade will be held physically at Wonder City, it will also be broadcast live online, reaching a worldwide audience.
Bishop Adelakun explained that this year’s theme, “Emmanuel”—meaning God with us—reflects the mission of the crusade: salvation, healing, deliverance, and divine miracles. He emphasized that attendees would receive prayers for healing and solutions to their personal challenges.
Call for Financial Discipline
Addressing Nigeria’s economic struggles, Bishop Adelakun urged national leaders to adopt financial discipline, warning against reckless spending. “While the country is struggling economically, those in leadership should not live as though all is well. God is calling us to financial prudence,” he stated.
Views on Donald Trump and Christian Values
The clergyman also reaffirmed his support for the U.S. President Donald Trump, citing Trump’s stance on Christian values. He praised Trump for his opposition to LGBTQ+ policies and for upholding religious traditions such as Christmas celebrations.
“Trump may not be the perfect man for the job, but he made himself available for God’s use. He took bold steps against policies that contradict Christian beliefs. That is why I support him—not because of his personality, but because of the values he stands for,” Bishop Adelakun stated.
Quoting the Bible, he referenced Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans, saying, “God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do what was not convenient—man with man, woman with woman. These are values I stand against, and Trump stood against them too.”
He further criticized America’s moral direction, stating, “The U.S. was founded on God’s principles, with ‘In God We Trust’ inscribed on the dollar bill. But today, it has become a headquarters of immorality. Trump stood for Christian values, and that is what matters.”
Encouragement for Nigerians
Bishop Adelakun urged Nigerians to trust in God’s divine intervention, declaring, “There is a law of divine exception—what happens around you does not have to happen to you. God’s grace will exempt His people from suffering.”
He assured attendees of adequate security measures for the crusade and announced that several music ministers would lead worship sessions during the event.
The Global Miracle Crusade 2025 is expected to draw thousands of worshippers seeking spiritual renewal, healing, and divine breakthroughs.
