Worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church, Arogungbogunmi, Olomi, Ibadan, Oyo State rolled out the drum in celebration of God’s goodness and mercy on Sunday, July 16, 2023 to mark its 27th anniversary.
The anniversary, with the theme, ‘The resurrection and life, witnessed a large turnout of national leaders of CAC Worldwide as well as congregants from branches of the church in the country and the neighbouring Republic of Benin.
The Christian faithful, wearing colorful attires, sang and danced unto the Lord as they recalled how the church began 27 years ago, noting that they had moved from grass to grace.
The President of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Dr Henry Ojo, while congratulating the leadership and members of the church, described the church as one of the stunning testimonies to the goodness of God.
He congratulated the congregation, their President, Prophet Richard Kolawole; and his wife, Prophetess Chris, for their commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
During an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the church’s anniversary, Ojo urged Nigerians not to be disenchanted about the decision of President Bola Tinubu to remove subsidy on petroleum products, explaining that the step was a gateway to prosperity for the country.
He said that “Though many people complained because they removed subsidy (on the Premium Motor Spirit), but I want to tell you that it is the gateway to the breakthrough of this country. I have confidence in the new leadership of this country that he would take us to the next level.
“We should be praising God for the current government in the land both at the state and the federal levels. Once again, I have faith that the current administration shall take us to a settled haven.
“Majority of the Nigerian citizens don’t read the newspapers and so are not informed about development in the country. We criticize without doing thorough analyses of situations, but one thing is that I am sure that the sitting government would lead us into a brighter future.”
Prophet Kolawole and his wife, Chris, while expressing joy on the success of the anniversary, said that “This ministry had a small beginning but today, we have many branches across the country and abroad. So, we need to appreciate God for his kindness, goodness and mercy towards us. We didn’t lose our wives and children in the battle. We are not indebted to any mortar, so we need to appreciate God for what he has done for us.”
Earlier in his sermon, Ojo harped on the need for believers to always praises God for his goodness towards mankind. He said that “The journey of 27 years in the life of the church is not a small one. It was a journey through the mountain and the low land. Series of experiences had happened. That God sustained this ministry till this time is enough reason to give glory to God.”
Among the men of God in attendance on the occasion are the General Superintendent, CAC, Worldwide, Pastor JD Onagwa; General Secretary, Pastor EE Aladesaiye; Director of Finance, CAC Worldwide, Pastor EO Owolabi; and the Assembly Pastor, EO Olajire.
