.As Arogungbogunmi celebrates 25th anniversary

The President of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Pastor Henry Ojo, has expressed worries over the worsening level of economy and the insecurity in Nigeria with an advice that those in positions of authority should rise to the emergency before it is too late.

Pastor Ojo spoke at the sideline of the 25th anniversary of the CAC Arogungbogunmi International, Olunde, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Sunday. Making reference to the falling moral ethics in the land, he said that the situation required collaborative and timely stakeholders’ intervention to curtail the trend.

“If you say that attacks by bandits in Nigeria is targeted at Christians alone, I will not agree. Anyone staying in the north would understand what the northen Christians and Muslims are facing. Well, terrorism and insecurity are global phenomenons; not in Nigeria alone. The rest of the world is facing the menace. It is the sign of end time.

“We knew the situation of things in the country before the current administration came on board. The terrorists entered Abuja and were bombing public utilities. We are not saying that they have done well now, so we want the Federal Government to do more for citizens to be able to sleep with two eyes closed. Nigeria had never been like this before. President Muhammadu Buhari needs to put in more efforts. I believe that we shall overcome the challenges.

“Nigeria is blessed but our education is certificate oriented and so, we have graduates who are busy looking for job after graduating. Nigeria is adding six million births to its population every year, so there should be a sustainable system in place to cater for the growing population. We should not put the responsibilities on government’s shoulder alone. I don’t agree that Nigeria should disintegrate, but every region should have full control of their resources,” he said.

Prophet Richard Kolawole, the General Overseer of CAC, Arogungbogunmi, stated that the Buhari-led government had a lot to do in restoring his administration’s trust in the minds of the youths of the country because they no longer have faith in it.

The renowned Prophet said, “This government cannot manage the youths. If a government cannot manage its youths, it has lost its focus. The youths are the strength and the power house of the nation. When the youths channel their energy to negativity, the country has lost it. University graduates that wander the streets aimlessly end up in banditry.

“A Yoruba adage says that idle hand is devil’s workshop. The youths have the potential and the zeal to lift the nation but they feel abandoned to a bleak future. A young man without work would be frustrated and end up in crime. Let Buhari rise up. Arresting Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, a.k.a Sunday Igboho would not solve the problem.

“Again, closure of boarders at a time when prices of commodities skyrocket is not ideal. The boarders should be opened for food to be brought in in order to ease the economy. Government should also not think of increasing pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit because that may further incite youths unrest and we may not be able to contain that.”

In his sermon on the occasion, Pastor Ojo, dwelt on the theme of the anniversary of the church, ‘Double strength and million gains,’ saying, “My preaching is on how to receive double strength and make million gains.” Making reference to the account of Elisha at the twilight of Elijah’s ministry on earth in 2 Kings Chapter 2, verse 7 of the Holy Bible, he said there were prices to pay in order to get into the fullness of God’s glory.”

On the journey of CAC Arogungbogunmi so far, Ojo said, “Twenty five years is not a small journey. When Prophet Richard Kolawole came out to tell us the story, he told us the sweetest part. He did not tell us the bitter part. I congratulate him and the wife as well. Behind every successful woman, there is a great woman. May the Lord uphold you. I congratulate the entire body of Christ. God has been blessing you in this place and He will continue to bless you.

“The theme of the anniversary gives you reassurance. After this programme, you will begin to do maximum exploit. We are in the world of power. The one that is stronger subdues the weaker. May you not be subdued in Jesus name.

‘As big and powerful as lion is, there is a small animal that scares the lion away. I pray for you that henceforth, you will begin to do that which seems impossible. When the power of God mixes with your power, you will begin to do that which seems impossible. Years ago, Prophet Richard Kolawole could not imagine that he could sit on a church as large as this.

“Greatness is not accidentally and it is not by luck. It comes upon one that engages in secret exercise. Greatness does not come without a price. Sometimes in 1983, I was with Prophet Babajide. The church believed that he was the successor to Prophet Babalola. I asked Prophet Babajide what was the secret. He said he always ensured that he was with Prophet Babalola.

“I followed the Prophet of God. I normally washed and ironed his dresses. Many times he would forget money in his pockets. But, I would pack it and return the money to him. But I knew others would have pocketed the money and the gifts that were meant for the man of God. Those who did that are nowhere to be found. May you not miss your blessings.”
