The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Oyo State said it has deployed no fewer than 150 armed men to Edo State for the Saturday governorship election in the state.
The Commandant, NSCDC in Oyo State, Iskilu Akinsanya, made the disclosure in Ibadan on Wednesday.
He said the decision was taken in view of the need to complement the security arrangements for the coming election.
Akinsanya urged the men to discharge their duties without fear or favour and with due sense of professionalism saying that the decision of the people of Edo State must count.
He said, “We charge you all to be of good conduct and to be good ambassadors of your homes. You are to exhibit absolute sense of professionalism in the discharge of your duties during the election.
“As security agents, you must ensure free, fair and credible elections devoid of bribery, rigging and hijack of the ballot boxes by hoodlums anywhere you are posted.”
He also urged the officers and men to ensure synergy with other security apparatuses for the success of the process.
