Panic broke out on Tuesday following a fire outbreak that razed a container shop near the Mobil Filling Station along Ring Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The shop, reportedly stocked with goods worth millions of naira, was completely destroyed in the inferno. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.

Eyewitnesses said the fire started suddenly, causing confusion in the area as residents and business owners scrambled to salvage their property.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, said firefighters arrived at the scene promptly and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby filling station and other shops.
“The fire only affected the container shop and the lubricant oil stored inside it,” Akinwande stated in a release issued on Wednesday morning.
“Thanks to the swift response of our men, the Mobil Filling Station and surrounding properties were saved from the fire.”
