There was heavy traffic that lasted several hours on Friday as a petrol tanker went up in flames following an explosion at the Iyaganku area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Report has it that the scene of the incident turned chaotic as the fuel-laden tanker fell beside a filling station in the area.
According to some commercial motorcyclist’s at the scene, there were no casualties.
Roads, including ones leading to the scene of the explosion, were said to have been cordoned off for several hours thereby causing traffic lock jam in parts of the city.
It was gathered that the tanker, which fell around noon on Friday, caught fire two hours later.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State, Uche Chukwura, confirmed the incident.
She said, “A tanker fell this afternoon and it eventually caught fire. Our men were there to control the traffic.”
