Following a fresh rumour doing the rounds on social media that music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, is dead, an authoritative source has debunked the news.

The source revealed that Obey is hale and hearty, urging people to disregard the rumour.

Decrying what he described as the wishful thinking of evil-minded folks, the source added, “He performed at the Chief Oyekunle Aremu Alex-Duduyemi online 85th birthday Zoom party, on Sunday and dazzled all and sundry at the event.”

The source condemned those peddling the rumour which was reoccurring for the second time in two months, saying, “Baba Obey deserves absolute respect because he is a rare legend and death wish is not what he deserves.

“He  should be celebrated and  spared to enjoy his old age in peace.

“Death is a price we must all pay. So, it is irresponsible and ungodly to wish anyone dead when it is not true.

“I can authoritatively tell you that Baba Obey is fine and doing well. I spoke with him this evening and  he was the one that picked his phone. He greeted me in his usual manner and we had discussion for some minutes and he prayed for me.”
