The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has called on Nigerians, particularly those in positions of authority, to prioritise the peace, security and welfare of citizens.
Oke made the call in an Easter message issued through the PFN Media Bureau, where he urged leaders across all levels of government to redouble their efforts in addressing the nation’s challenges.
The clergyman said leadership remained a sacred trust that must be exercised with the fear of God, integrity, and a strong commitment to the common good.
“We urge all those holding positions of authority over this nation to redouble their efforts in ensuring that the peace, security, and welfare of all Nigerians remain first and foremost in their minds and public agenda,” a statement E-signed by Pastor (Mrs) Bisi Adetifa on behalf of the PFN President read.
The cleric stressed that leaders must demonstrate accountability and selflessness in the discharge of their duties, noting that the current socio-economic realities in the country required decisive and people-centred governance.
Addressing Christians, Oke encouraged them to uphold godly values and be instruments of peace and transformation in society, especially during the Easter season.
He urged believers to reflect on the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by showing love, unity, and compassion to others.
While wishing Nigerians a joyful Easter celebration, the PFN president expressed hope that the season would inspire renewed faith, national healing, and collective responsibility among citizens.
