There was excitement within the camp of former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State stepped down for the former.
Fayemi endorsed Tinubu immediately after he withdrew from the All Progressives Congress’s presidential primary on Tuesday night.
According to Fayemi, although the decision was difficult it was necessary, because stepping down for the former Lagos State governor was a not favour but a duty.
Apart from asking delegates from his state to vote for him, Fayemi also pledged to help Tinubu win the presidency if he wins the primary election.
Recalling his years as an activist and crusader for the entrenchment of democratic rule, Fayemi remarked that Tinubu remained the best aspirant for the number one position.
