Excitement, colour as Shettima, senators, other dignitaries grace Sen. Alli daughter’s wedding ceremony

Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, was awake with excitement as Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside some senators in the South-West and other dignitaries in the land, graced Sen. Sharafadeen Alli daughter’s wedding ceremony.

Alli, who is representing the Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, gave his daughter’s hand in marriage last weekend.

The Nikkah ceremony between Suliat Alli and AbdulQudus Okeowo held at the University of Ibadan Islamic Centre.

Among those who were present on the occasion were Sen. Gbenga Daniel (APC-Ogun East); Sen. Jide Ipinsagba (APC- Ondo North) and Sen. Idiat Adebule (APC- Lagos West).

Others were Sen. Cyril Fasuyi (APC- Ekiti North); Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North) and Sen. Yunus Akintunde (APC-Oyo Central).

The former Chairman, National Lottery Commission, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle; former Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, Chief Lowo Obisesan; and the President of Omo Ajorosun Club, Alhaji Abiola Alli were on hand at the eremony.

Also present were APC chieftains in the state and dignitaries from across the country.

Prof. Abdulrahman Oloyede, the Chief Imam, UI Central Mosque, who joined the new couple, counseled them on how to live peacefully and happily according to Islamic teachings.

Oloyede said, “Prophet Muhammad said that any woman who stayed peacefully in her husband’s house has achieved 50 per cent rewards in worship.

“I implore you to uphold godliness, discipline and perseverance in all you do. May the Almighty Allah grant the union good fruits.”

He congratulated the couple for fulfilling the three key conditions of love, consent of parents and exchange of gifts and wished them a blissful marital life.

Alli expressed joy on the occasion, thanking God for sparing their lives to witness the day. He admonished the couple to live peacefully, praying that Almighty Allah grants the couple good fruits of the womb.

Alli, who is also the Maye Balogun of Ibadanland, thanked the Vice President, senators and other dignitaries present for the honour done to him and the new couple.
