Family releases details of Alao-Akala’s burial arrangements

The family of late Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala has released the details of his burial programme. 

The former governor of Oyo state died on January 12 at the age of 71 in his Ogbomoso country home.

Alao-Akala, an elder statesman, was the Bobagunwa of Ogbomosoland.

A statement signed by Segun Dokun Odebunmi, Chairman, Media Committee on the burial, indicated that the programme would commence on Monday, 14th February and end on the 20th of February.

Odebunmi is Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Value, National Assembly, Abuja.

Burial details are as follow:
Monday, February 14: Lecture and Day of Tributes at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, Oyo State. Time: 11am

Tuesday, February 15: Lecture and Day of Tributes. 1500 Lecture Theater, College of Health Science, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.Time: 10am.

Praise Night at His residence, Opadoyin Akala Lodge, Randa, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Time: 4pm

Wednesday, February 16: Lying in State and Executive Session at House of Chiefs, Oyo State Government Secretariat,Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State. Time: 12pm.

The Hearse afterwards departs in a motorcade to Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Thursday, February 17: Cultural Display and Parade. His residence, Opadoyin Akala Lodge, Randa Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Time: 10am.

Lying in State. Christian Wake Keep and Service of Songs at Ogbomoso High School Open Field, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Time: 4pm.

Friday, February 18: Final Burial Service at Beulah Baptist Conference Ground, Behind Baptist High School, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.Time: 11am.

Interment follows immediately at his residence, Opadoyin Akala Lodge, Randa, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Reception and Entertainment of Guests at Ogbomoso Recreation Club, Ilorin Road, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Sunday, February 20: Thanksgiving Service at Oke-Elerin Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Time: 10am.

The Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Senator Brimmo Yusuff, stated that adequate security measures were in place to ensure the safety of lives and properties during the event.
