Former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has raised concern about the 2023 polls, warning that the country could not afford to fall into wrong hands.
Fayemi spoke recently while receiving the state Publicity Secretaries of the All Progressives Congress in the South-West.
He said that Nigerians should ensure that the country remains stable, prosperous and great.
Fayemi, who was the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, expressed his readiness to champion victory for the APC candidates in the 2023 general election.
He said, “As a progressive party populated by resourceful patriots, we must ensure that no stone is left unturned to mobilize support for our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is clearly the best among the pack of those seeking to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in office come May 2023.
“We have the wherewithal to run a successful campaign for our presidential candidate and others. The presidential election, in particular, is ours to win.”
The visitors described Fayemi as an Emeritus Governor who served his state and country meritoriously and urged him not to relent in giving his best.
The party officials on visit to the former governor are Tunde Oladunjoye (Ogun), Segun Dipe (Ekiti), Alex Kalejaye (Ondo), Adunola Oyewole (Osun) and Olawale Sadare (Oyo).
Seye Oladejo (Lagos) was, however, said to be unavoidably absent.
