As politicians begin to jostle for elective positions, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says God has yet to tell him anything about next year’s election in the country.
Adeboye, in a sermon on Sunday at the monthly Thanksgiving Service of the Church, said that unlike the 2019 election, God had yet to tell him about the coming poll.
According to him, God spoke to him about the 2019 elections more than a year ahead of the exercise, but the case has not been so this time.
However, he stated that God might still speak to him about it.
The cleric, who expressed concerns about the Kaduna killings, oil theft, the nation’s depressing debt profile and other current national challenges, indicated his reservation for politics.
Adeboye stressed that he did not support any presidential aspirant ahead of the coming elections.
He explained that he made the clarification in the light of the criticisms against the church’s creation of a Politics Directorate and the instruction to members to be politically involved in the 2023 electioneering process.
