No fewer than six gunmen were said to have whisked Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, son-in-law to former Governor Rochas Okorocha, away to an unknown destination during a service at the St. Peters Anglican Church, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident reportedly occured during the Outing Service of the victim’s mother, late Jemamah Nwosu.
Unconfirmed report had it that Nwosu was forcefully taken away by security men attached to the Imo State Government House.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen, shooting sporadically into in the air, stormed the church during service and whisked Nwosu, a former governorship candidate in Imo State away.
He was said to have been bundled into the trunk of a waiting vehicle.
No official statement has been made by the police on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
