The chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Zone ‘C,’ Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, Mallam Aminu Bobi, has been reportedly kidnapped by yet-to-be identified gunmen.
However, the incident has yet to be confirmed by the police in the state.
Attempts by The Nation to reach the Police Public Relations Officer in the Command, DSP Abiodun Wasiu, as of the time of filing this report were abortive as he neither picked his calls nor responded to text messages.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday, August 7, while Bobi was supervising his workers in his farm.
Eyewitnesses told The Nation that he was abducted around 5 pm on Saturday.
The eyewitnesses said that 18 gunmen invaded his farm on six motorcycles, shooting sporadically.
They were said to have picked only Bobi, leaving his workers behind.
