Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, on Friday kicked off her attempt to cook the world’s biggest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
Baci, who shot to global fame in 2023 after setting the record for the longest cooking marathon, is hosting the “Gino Jollof Festival” in partnership with seasoning and culinary brand, Gino.

The landmark cooking feat features a specially designed pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall, into which 250 bags of rice will be prepared.
Before the burners were lit, the lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, Bolaji Idowu, offered prayers and blessings for Baci’s success.
The festival has drawn a vibrant crowd, with Gen Zs, millennials, food lovers, celebrities, and social media influencers such as Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Folagade Banks, and Veekee James present to lend their support.
Organisers revealed that over 20,000 people registered for the free, open-to-all event.
Assuring attendees of both taste and safety, Baci promised the record-breaking jollof rice would be “amazing and hygienic.”
