According to a statistical breakdown provided by JAMB on Monday, over 1.5 million out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for the examination scored below 200. Only 420,415 candidates managed to score above 200 marks.

The data further revealed that 75 per cent of candidates scored below 200, while less than 1 per cent achieved scores above 300.

In a statement accompanying the release, JAMB disclosed that 40,247 underage candidates were granted special permission to take the exam. However, only 467 candidates (representing 1.16%) met the threshold for exceptional performance, with further evaluation stages still ongoing.

The 2025 UTME commenced on Thursday, April 24.
