A group of hunters in Okeho community, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State has foiled an attempt by some suspected hoodlums to set the police station in the area on fire.
It was learnt that the hooligans besieged the station around 10pm on Sunday but were prevented from hatching the nefarious act.
Residents of the community said the hunters had been hinted of the plan to attack the station.
The hoodlums were reportedly armed with broken bottles and other dangerous objects.
According to Sikiru Lawoya and Bashiru Abija, but for the quick intervention of the local hunters the hoodlums would have succeeded in burning down the station.
It will be recalled that series of attack on police facilities trailed the #EndSARS protest in the land.
The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Nwachukwu Enwonwu, had warned those behind the attacks on police stations would be made to face dial consequence.
