Customers of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc have been assured by the company’s management that those within its network would enjoy hitch-free services during the Christmas holiday.
The Chief Operating Officer of IBEDC, John Ayodele, gave the assurance in a Christmas message made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Thursday.
The statement read in part that “In anticipation of customers’ expectations during the holidays, we are fully equipped to ensure faults are cleared as fast as possible across our franchise to avoid unnecessary disruption of power supply.”
It urged customers and all Nigerians to demonstrate the virtues of love, compassion and peace which are the cardinal pillars epitomised by Christmas.
The message read that despite the challenges in the year 2020, IBEDC demonstrated its commitment to service delivery by creating more Customer Care Units across its franchise for quicker resolutions of complaints and faults, upgrade and installation of some major electrical infrastructure.
It added, “We also introduced innovative ICT driven initiatives and policies to promote real time reading of our meters, distribution of bills and generally ensure a more efficient business operations.”
It urged customers to take advantage of its hassle free channels of payment to pay bills and vend in order to avoid disconnection during the holidays.m, stressing, “Our offices will remain opened during the holidays. You can also reach us via our customer care line or email us.”
The message also appealed for the strict observance of the COVID-19 precautionary measures of wearing face masks in public places, regular washing of hands or use of sanitizers and physical distancing during the yuletide celebrations.
It further advised motorist to avoid drinking under the influence of alcohol and observe traffic rules to prevent collision with electrical poles and other accidents
“Ensure proper supervision of your children and wards to prevent domestic and electrical accidents this period, avoid cooking or trading under a high-tension wire, switch off all electrical appliances not in use, and please, do not engage quacks to fix any electrical faults,” it warned.
