The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has reiterated its commitment to the construction of the Abeokuta-Sagamu-Mowe 33KV dual-circuit line, saying that it would boost power supply in Mowe, Magboro, Ibafo and adjoining communities.
The indications were given in a statement signed by the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Akin Abiodun.
According to the statement, the on-going construction of the double circuit 33kV overhead linesfrom the new transmission station through Sagamu Interchange to Mowe are awarded in five segments to different contractors in a bid to hasten completion.
The statement indicated that the four segments of the project being completed, represented 80 per cent completion of the entire project. The completed sections of the lines, it stated, had already been soaked, while the contractor assigned the remaining 20per cent of the segment would ensure timely delivery.
However, it said that the ongoing construction of the third over-head bridge at kilometer 55, near the Sagamu Interchange, prevented the linkage of the existing 33KV line with the new lines proposed to serve as alternative to the one coming from Oke-Aro TCN Substation.
It read that “IBEDC was not insensitive to the present irregular supply being experienced in Mowe, Ibafo, Magboro and environs. We sincerely apologize for all inconveniences this present situation might have caused our esteemed customers.
