Imo: Rampaging gunmen kill 5 traditional rulers

Tragedy struck in Nnenasa community, headquarters of Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State on Tuesday as some rampaging gunmen reportedly opened fire on some traditional rulers during a meeting.

No fewer than five of the traditional rulers were reported to have died in the attack by the gunmen.

Report has it that over 20 traditional rulers from the area were having a meeting when the gunmen invaded the venue. 

They were said to have fired gunshots indiscriminately on arrival at the meeting.

Those who sustained gunshots injuries had been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Imo State Police Command has yet to issue any statement on the incident.
