Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project is set to buy five Friesian bulls for N9.2million in a bid to boost the animal insemination at Kadawa Insemination Centre in Garun-Malam Local Government Area of the state.
The state animal insemination project, awarded to Hamjik Agric Plus Limited, was supported by the Islamic Development Bank.
Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, the Project Coordinator, gave the indication in a statement, on Friday, in Kano through Ameen Yassar, a project Communication Specialist.
The statement read that the initiative had numerous benefits over natural mating, including reducing sexually transmitted diseases among cattle and improving genetic quality of livestock.
