The Labour Party in Rivers State has endorsed Sim Fubara, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for support in the countdown to the March 11 elections.
Deinye Pepple, state Chairman of LP in the state announced this at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Among other reasons, he explained that Fubara’s senatorial district had yet to produce a governor since the creation of the state.
“Voting a riverine candidate in the person of Simimialayi Fubara from the South East Senatorial District of the state during the coming governorship poll ensures that the Labour Party and her members are defenders and ambassadors of the values that have set her Obidient movement apart from all other parties,” he said.
Recall that the All Progressives Congress also reportedly assured Governor Nyesome Wike of its readiness to support the PDP governorship candidate in the coming poll in appreciation of Wike’s support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu during the February 25 presidential election in the state.
