Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has presented a N294,515,445,107 appropriation bill for the 2022 fiscal year to the state lawmakers.
Makinde said that the budget tagged, ‘Budget of growth and opportunities,’ is in line with the focus of his administration to uplift the state from poverty to prosperity.
The 2022 budget is about N24.8billion lower than that of the current year which is N318.8billion.
The presentation, slated for 8am today (Tuesday), started around 10am with top government functionaries, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders in attendance.
While the allocation for capital expenditure stands at N156billion (52.97 per cent), recurrent expenditure is N138.5billion (47.3 per cent).
Infrastructure gulps the highest allocation with N75.6billion (21.19 per cent), followed by Education which got N54.2billion (20.87 per cent).
Health is to receive N15.9billion (5.23 per cent) while Agriculture gets N11.798billion (4.54 per cent).
The governor said that the major project to be embarked upon in year 2022 is the 110km Ibadan Circular Road project.
