The governor, who doubles as the chairman of the state’s COVID-19 Task Force, spoke via his verified Twitter handle on Monday.

According to him, while 20 suspected cases came back positive, 16 confirmed cases have received their second negative test results.

He tweeted, “Sixteen confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1,008.

“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty suspected cases came back positive. The cases are from Oluyole (5), Ido (3), Egbeda (3), Ibadan South East (2), Ibadan North (2), Lagelu (2), Ibadan South West (2) and Akinyele (1) local government areas.

“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 1,726.

“Please keep following the guidelines of the COVID-19 task force to ensure that we slow down the spread of coronavirus in our state.

“Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, wear face masks in public places and maintain proper social distancing.”
