.CAC prays for peaceful poll, unity in church during funeral service
The burial ceremony of Dr Alice Mosunmola Apata, leader of the Good Women Society, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, held in ground style in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday, January 27.
The ceremony, which was attended by men of God, led by the President of CAC Worldwide, Dr Henry Ojo, attracted thousands of worshippers from far and near who congregated at the headquarters of CAC Arogungbogunmi, Olomi, Ibadan for the burial service.
The crowd of people, comprising the executive members of the CAC Worldwide, dignitaries, Christian women’s associations, family members, among others, later settled at the expansive hall of Sablat Event Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where the reception was held.
During the church service, the body of Christ prayed for the restoration of peace and quality leadership for the country as the general elections draw near.
The church also seized the occasion to pray for unity and peace within the fold of Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria in the light of the prolonged crises being witnessed.
Addressing the congregation during the funeral service of late Mrs Apata who passed on at age 101 on October 23, 2022, one of her sons, Prophet Richard Kolawole, attributed the current state of the nation to the self-centered attitude of the politicians.
He, however, urged the political class to emulate the rare virtues of the deceased for the growth and development of the church, saying, “I am happy because the woman that we are talking about was my mother. All of us (the children) inherited the trait of service of God from her.
“She was the President of Good Women Society; she was one of those who inspired the establishment of Babalola Girls’ Memorial Grammar School, Ilesa and CAC Midwifery Home, Ede, Osun State. She was the brain behind the house that was built for the mother of Apostle Ayo Babalola and the new CAC Faith Home at Odo Owa. Mama Apata also built the new Campground of CAC, Good Women at Awotan, Apete, Ibadan.
Meanwhile, the President of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Dr Henry Ojo, has urged Christians in the country to make good use of their time on earth.
Ojo said that “Time waits for nobody. There will be a time we will all be remembered just like our Mummy Alice. If you use your time wisely and positively, you would be remembered for good and this would wait for you in heaven. You will be asked about the impact that you made while alive; you will be asked of the roles that you played while alive. God is watching how you used your time.
“Today, everyone of us gathered here because of the courageous woman, Madam Alice. She was so courageous, she stood her ground when there was leadership tussle in CAC. She stood firm for justice and insisted that things must be done in accordance with the law.”
Prophet Kolawole, who is one of Mama Apata’s sons, said, “In the name of the Apata and Akinyele, and Alasa in Ido Ani, in the name of CAC, Arogungbogunmi and the Good Women Society, I thank the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide for the honour which God has used you to bestow on Mama on this occasion.
“We pray that in the name of Jesus, we shall all live long and fulfill our years. I thank all, including the choirs, ushers and the women in the Lord. May all of you continue to wax stronger and stronger. We thank you for your support and prayers. May you not slip off in the journey of faith.
“We thank you for the attendance. May the sword of the spirit not fall off our hands in Jesus name. Once again, we bless God for Dr Henry Ojo and other top officials of CAC Worldwide for being there for us.”
Prophet Kolawole stressed further that “I am happy because the woman we are talking about was my mother. All of us, her children, inherited the spirit of service of the Lord from her. I rose in the work of Christian Ministry through her. I am one of the beneficiaries of her calling. Mama was the one whom God used as an architect of Arogungbogunmi Ministry.
“I charge all women to emulate her virtues. In fact, I want our political leaders to also emulate the virtues of forthrightness and diligence from her. Our politicians should serve the people wholeheartedly rather than milking the people dry. They need to serve the citizens with utmost sense of sincerity.”
