The President, Mathematical Association of Nigeria, Prof. Kamoru Olayiwola Usman, has indicated the readiness of the group to promote the teaching and learning of mathematics at all levels of education through the use of Information and Communication Technology.
Usman, who is the current Provost, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, gave the indication in his acceptance speech as the new president of the Association recently, in Kano.
The don took the mantle as MAN’s President from Prof. Mamman Musa, at the Association’s 57th AGM held at Bayero University, Kano.
According to him, his tenure would work in tandem with the objective of MAN to improve on the teaching and learning of Mathematics.
The objective, he said, would be vigorously pursued by his administration.
The professor promised to place higher premium on trainings and workshops for mathematics teachers in addition to prospecting for international linkages to further expose teachers and learners of Mathematics nationwide.
