The collaboration, unveiled by the NAPS Senate, is designed to promote financial inclusion, introduce student-friendly digital payment systems, and encourage structured economic participation among Nigerian polytechnic students.

According to the Senate President of NAPS, Comrade Oyewumi Festus Ayomide, the initiative reflects the association’s commitment to aligning with credible private-sector institutions that share its vision for student advancement and national development.

He noted that in an era where technology continues to drive economic opportunity, partnerships that enhance students’ access to digital financial tools are critical.

“The Paytogeda Initiative is not merely a platform; it is a deliberate intervention to bridge financial gaps within the polytechnic community. It represents opportunity, accessibility, and a new era of collaboration between student leadership and responsible corporate institutions,” he stated.

SmartPay Finance and Holdings Limited, a key player in Nigeria’s financial technology ecosystem, is expected to leverage its expertise to provide sustainable financial access and improve digital literacy among students.

The partnership will also equip beneficiaries with tools to strengthen their economic capacity both during their academic pursuits and after graduation.

As part of the event marking the partnership, the NAPS Senate Leadership conferred the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of SmartPay with the award of “Outstanding Tech Personality in Nigeria – 2026.”

The honour, according to the association, recognises the company’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to youth empowerment.

The NAPS leadership reaffirmed its resolve to build a financially inclusive and technologically empowered student community through strategic collaborations that directly impact the welfare and development of polytechnic students nationwide.
