At a brief handover ceremony held at the NYSC Secretariat in Ibadan, Comrade Odoba delivered a valedictory address in which he expressed profound gratitude to God for a successful term in office. He also thanked the NYSC management for entrusting him with the leadership role, having served as the 21st State Coordinator in Oyo.

Odoba extended appreciation to the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as other stakeholders for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He particularly commended the dedication and cooperation of the NYSC staff, noting that their collective efforts enabled the Scheme to attain significant milestones during his administration.

He urged staff members to maintain a culture of peace, professionalism, and dedication, and to offer the new Coordinator their full support. Describing Mr. Peters as a “perfect gentleman,” Odoba emphasized the need for unity and collaboration to build on the achievements recorded under his leadership.

In his maiden address, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters expressed gratitude to the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General O.O. Nafiu, and the management team for the opportunity to serve. He lauded the outgoing Coordinator for his remarkable contributions and pledged to sustain the momentum.

“I am committed to continuing the good work already started. I will run an open-door policy and welcome all ideas and suggestions aimed at advancing the Secretariat,” Peters stated. He appealed to staff for their maximum cooperation, stressing that any success recorded would be a collective one.

He further encouraged diligence, teamwork, and mutual respect among staff, urging everyone to take ownership of their responsibilities and work towards enhancing the image of the NYSC in the state.

Staff members took turns to pay glowing tributes to the outgoing Coordinator, describing him as a visionary leader and advocate for staff welfare.

The ceremony was highlighted by the formal handover of documents from Comrade Odoba to Mr. Peters, alongside the presentation of awards, commendation letters, and gifts to the former Coordinator by friends and partners of the NYSC in Oyo State.
