AgroInfoTech Africa Group and its founder, Ayooluwa Okediji, were honoured with the ‘Alumni Achievement award’ and the ‘Distinguished Innovative award’ during the 60th anniversary of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation Ibadan, Oyo State, held recently.
The awards were said to have been given in recognition of their efforts in pioneering digital agriculture and agribusiness innovations.
Okediji, an alumnus of the College, positions AgroInfoTech Africa to enhance the agricultural landscape through technology.
He was said to have transformed traditional farming into a tech-driven, youth-led enterprise, integrating digital tools to propel agri-food businesses, projects and translating research into practical, climate-smart farming applications.
Not only has AgroInfoTech Africa established Nigeria’s first Digital Agribusiness Innovation Center and an agri-food business management consulting outfit, but also launched schemes such as FarmClusters, Farmsured and Farmtrove.
These redefined agri-food cooperatives, finance, insurance and pension schemes to farmers, thereby fostering resilience and empowering the agricultural community, offering zero-cost social protection mechanisms using technology.
According to the College, the awards underscore Okediji’s trailblazing efforts in creating a sustainable and innovative agricultural ecosystem.
His strategic initiatives continues to empower a new generation of agripreneurs, with AgroInfoTech Africa’s efforts enhancing productivity and sustainability within the sector.
In his speech, Okediji expressed gratitude for the awards given to him and AgroInfoTech Africa, reiterating his commitment to spearheading transformative initiatives in the agricultural sector.
The occasion was witnessed by the agricultural community, as well as other stakeholders from various walks of life.
