Olubadan designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, heaves a sigh of relief as coast becomes clear for him to get enthroned to the royal stool as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
This came as the former governor of Oyo State, Chief Rasidi Ladoja, who is the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, withdrew the suit which he filed against members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
Recall that Ladoja instituted a suit against the members of the Olubadan-in-Council on the ground that the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, now late wore beaded crown before ascending the stool of the Olubadan.
However, the High Chief on Tuesday, backed down on the legal action thereby clearing the huddle for Oba Olakulehin to be installed as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Adeola Oloko, an aide to Ladoja, said the case had been withdrawn from the Court. Oloko stated that counsel to the litigant would approach the court for enrollment order following which the defendants would be served with withdrawal notice.
“Baba has withdrawn the case filed against the Olubadan-in-Council from the Court. This will facilitate the enthronement of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Ladoja has lived up to his promise to the people of Ibadanland to withdraw the case from the Court.
“There is no longer any delay from his end. What is next now is for the Governor Makinde to approve the nomination of Oba Olakulehin as the next Olubadan,” Oloko said.
