AKINWALE ABOLUWADE
The Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Abayomi Akinruntan, and the Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, have stepped down from their respective leadership positions.
Akinruntan, who represents Ilaje Constituency 1, and Ogunmolasuyi, representing Owo Constituency 1, are both members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their resignations were formally announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, which was presided over by Speaker Olamide Oladiji.
While giving no specific details, Akinruntan attributed his decision to the prevailing political power-sharing dynamics in the state.
Following their exits, the Assembly promptly filled the vacant positions. Ololade Gbegudu, representing Okitipupa Constituency 2, was named the new Deputy Speaker, while Olatunji Oshati, representing Ose Constituency, emerged as the new Majority Leader.
