Segun Oni, Social Democratic Party governorship candidate in the Saturday election in the state, has expressed concern over the alleged kidnap of some leaders of his party by those described as agents of the All Progressives Congress.
The yet-to-be-identified ‘agents’ of the ruling political party in the state were reported to have abducted some members of the opposition party with the backing of some security agents.
In an interview with journalists at his campaign office in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Oni said that it was worrisome that some of the leaders of his party were being kidnapped by some APC agents.
“Don’t use yourself to set ‘elite state’ on fire,” Oni said.
He stressed, “The situation where you go to house of our people and kidnap them as it is being done now is worrisome. They should be told to stop because they are testing the patience and tolerance of the people.
“We won’t tell our people to resist them at all costs and we can’t say they should obey them at all cost because they are carrying out illegal orders.”
According to him, there is no room for manipulation as the electoral guidelines must be followed.
