‘Oodua group member’ arrested for attacking Oyo House of Chiefs, Assembly not our staff – Fed. College of Educ. (Special) Management

The management of the Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo in Oyo State has disclaimed one Alabi Ogundeji, an ‘Oodua group member’ arrested for allegedly attacking the Oyo State House of Chiefs and the House of Assembly Complex at the Agodi Secretariat, saying that the man is not a staff in the College as being widely reported.

The authorities of the College announced this in a statement signed by the Registrar of the College on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 made available to Oyo Reporters ini Saturday in Ibadan.

Recall that the residents of Oyo State were jolted by news of the April 16 attacks on the state secretariat by a group of Yoruba nation agitators.

The statement, titled, ‘Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo Public Notice: Alabi Ogundeji,’ read in parts that “The attention of the management of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo has been drawn to a news item in some newspapers which has also gone viral in many online news platforms to the effect that one Alabi Ogundeji who was one of the persons arrested in connection with the invasion of the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Ibadan last week under the guise of Yoruba Nation Agitation and was said to have claimed to ben a lecturer in the College.

“The management of the College wishes to state that the said Alabi Ogundeji isi not a lecturer in the College.

“For the avoidance of doubt, ‘Alabi Ogundeji’ is a strange name to the College ase no person with such name has ever been appointed by the College or has any direct or indirect employment relationship with the College.

“The Nigeria Police, all others security agencies and the general public are to please note.”
