Oyo State Government has indicated its resolve to promote industrial development through support to the Technology Incubation Centre in a bid to create employment for its citizens and boost its economy.
Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, spoke during a familiarisation tour to TIC’s Zonal Office, Sango, Ibadan.
Olaleye said that the Ministry would partner industrial occupants of the centre to create employment, promote technological inventions and entrepreneurial skills for the people of the state.
He also stated that the revoked expanse of industrial estate land at Sango would be used for industrial purposes to prevent wastage.
Earlier, he held maiden meeting with the leaders of the 12 registered trade clusters in the state, lauding their efforts in working in tandem with the agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Danjuma Odunayo, President, National Association of Nigerian Traders and Yisau Kolayode Hamzat, President Tradesmen and Artisans pledged the readiness of their members to cooperate with the present administration in the state for healthy operation.
They urged the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives to fast track the process leading to the inauguration of the State Market Leaders Council.
