After 46 days in isolation, Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, has recovered from COVID-19 complications.
Olatunbosun was given a clean bill of health having tested negative for the virus twice.
It will be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde had on June 24, directed the members of the State Executive Council to take COVID-19 tests after the flag off of community testing in the state, to ascertain the extent of transmission.
Five members of the council were declared positive, including Olatubosun. However, the other four members were given clean bills 14 days ago.
The Commissioner said, “I will like to give thanks to the Almighty God for showing me mercy during this period.
“Similarly, I want to thank the people of Oyo State, too numerous to mention and the COVID-19 taskforce team for their supports.”
The commissioner told the people of the state that COVID-19 is real and it is important that everyone adheres strictly to the preventive measures as the virus is no respecter of persons.
