The three Oyo State commissioners who reportedly tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 disease have been identified.
Oyo Reporters gave their names as Mr Seun Fakorede, Commissioner for Youths and Sport; Prof. Raphael Afonja, Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport; and the Commissioner for Information, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun.
The three commissioners were confirmed positive for COVID-19 following the directive by Governor Seyi Makinde that all the cabinet members should be tested.
It will be recalled that Makinde announced via his verified Twitter handle, on Wednesday, that three members of the State Executive Council tested positive for the virus.
However, the governor did not mention their identities.
Makinde wrote, “Earlier today (Wednesday), we received COVID-19 confirmation tests for all members of the Oyo State Executive Council. Sadly, three tests came back positive, and two were inconclusive, so they will need to be retested.”
Fakorede said through his Tweeter handle, on Thursday evening, that though he tested positive, he was asymptomatic.
Governor Makinde tested positive early April but was later confirmed negative after treatment.
