The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, on Thursday, in Ibadan, said the ministry has begun test transmission on its online radio.
According to the commissioner, news broadcast and report on activities of the state government would be featured on the platform beginning from January 2020.
Olatunbosun made the disclosure in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.
The statement read that the online radio was set up to compliment other medium of information in the state. It read that the radio would relay activities of Ministries, Directorates and Agencies of the state and also engender feedback from the public.
The statement further read, “This is another innovation to complement efforts of the Ministry in relaying the activities of the administration in making life meaningful to the people of Oyo State.
“The radio is currently on test transmission, playing good music. By January, we shall commence broadcast of news and activities of the state government through the workings of the Ministries, Directorates and Agencies.
“It is for the sole purpose of bringing governance closer to the people with little or no cost wherever one may be in the world.”
