Oyo LG poll: Counting, announcement of election results begin

Vote counting has begun in most of the 33 local government council areas of Oyo State as the council poll held today (Saturday) by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission was brought to conclusion.

Counting of votes and announcement of election results in various parts of the state were ongoing as of the time of filing this report by Oyo Reporters.

OYSIEC conducted the local government election in the 33 local government council areas of the state on Saturday.

It was observed that in Ibadan, the state capital, counting and announcement of results were being done in some polling units in Ido, Ibadan North, Ibadan North East, Ibadan South East, Ibadan South West, and Ibadan North West local government areas.

The processes started as elections were concluded in some polling units as officials of the Commission swung into action.

As of the time of putting this report together, election results were being declared in parts of Ibadan North Local Government Area, just as in other local council areas.

In Ward 9, polling unit 6 in Ibadan North local government, the Peoples Democratic Party polled 40 votes in the chairmanship election, while the All Progressives Congress got 10 votes. Three ballot papers were voided. 

In the councillorship election, PDP, got 40 votes while APC got 11 votes, with two ballot papers voided.

At Unit 5, Ward 9 in Ibadan North Local Government Council, PDP garnered a total of 117 votes in the chairmanship election, while APC got 9 votes. Four ballot papers were voided. In the councillorship election. 

PDP got 110 votes while APC got 15, with one ballot paper voided.
