The National Centre for Diseases Control confirmed a total number of 745 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
Of this number, Oyo State, with a total of 103 cases, came second to Lagos which topped the list with 280 cases.
Ebonyi State came next to Oyo with 72 COVID-19 positive cases as the Federal Capital Territory, followed closely with 60 cases.
Twenty-one of the 36 states of the federation had COVID-19 confirmation cases on Thursday.
The current total COVID-19 cases in the state is 708.
The number of cases, announced on Thursday, was the highest so far in the history of COVID-19 in the state since March when the index case was confirmed in Oyo State.
The total number of coronavirus related deaths in Oyo State, as of Wednesday was nine.
